An earthquake measured at 8.0 Richter scale suddenly struck the Sichuan Province, China on May 12th, 2008 at 2:28 p.m. local time. More than 60,000 people have lost their lives, including thousands of students in schools buried under collapsed schools and buildings, which were smashed apart. The heartbreak continues, unrelenting.

“Love through Education Foundation” is purposely set up with a mission to help children in the poor countries to get education, including building schools and teacher training. We urge you to join us as individual or on behalf of your enterprise or association, to donate to this Foundation, particularly to the “School Rebuilding Funds” so that we could help rebuild schools in the affected areas as fast as possible for the heart-broken students.

“Love through Education Foundation” is a public charity (Charity Business No: 85797 1169 RR0001). We have the privilege under the authorization from Charities Directorate (Phone No: 1-800-267-2384 ) to apply funding directly to the entities defined in subsection 149(I) of the Income Tax Act, including Registered Canadian charities and the United Nations or agencies thereof, such as Red Cross and UNICEF outside Canada.

Please make cheque payabe to” Love Through Education Foundation”, we will issue tax-credit receipts for donations over $20 to doners who included their name and addresses.  Please identify your donation is for the (1) “Sichuan Earthquake Relief Funds” or (2) “Sichuan Schools Rebuilding Funds”. We will apply all funding received from this event to UNICEF in Beijing without any administration deduction.

Our mission will also include: (1) monitoring and the follow up of the schools rebuilding projects that our funding is applied, (2) appealing to Canadian Immigration authority to facilitate the adoption of orphans from the disastrous area in Sichuan and (3) issuing tax-credit receipts to individual or organization donors to obtain the equal matching funds from the Federal Government if they donations have not yet sent out.
